Letters delivered to Oregon Senators

Personal letters to the offices of Oregon Senators Ron Wyden and Gordon Smith were hand-delivered today - appealing to their bi-partisan approach.

I'm glad there are people like that out there. That actually do something for a cause. But mostly it's just hooray for our side. Activists have been promoting this message for as long as I can remember, and it's a good cause. The bad news... congress is so divided and polarized, and the average American idiot simply doesn't give a shit until they wake up to a crisis.

And there are billions being spent every year by the big players on this problem; maybe one of them will get lucky. Unfortunately, I certainly have little faith in congress doing anything.

As I read over the above I realize how cynical I've become.
